My fave place to get viet sandwiches. They are always so busy, but moves fast.
My fave is the grilled pork, but lately I've been sticking to the combo.
My bf likes the viet coffee here.
Their bread are sooo yummy and delicious. We love the mini bread that goes well with the butter crawfish broil during crawfish season.
They have mini viet sandwich which are perfect for kids, but for pricing you minus well just get a full sandwich n cut it in half.
Ohhh they finally take cards!!! Idk where I've been but they were a cash system forever.
Their pate chaud is good and have lots of little things while in line for food options like spring rolls or chicken or pork buns, etc. other Vietnamese food I'm not so versed in.
But love viet sandwiches and my family's go to spot! -

By far the best banh mi in Sacramento. Kind of bummed they raised their prices but can't blame the business.. It's all supply and demand. That said, with their raised prices I just go far less frequently than I used to.
Their BBQ pork is dry AF. Their grilled pork is where its at. -

The month of June and July, I have had at least 3 banh mi a week. One week it was 5, don't judge. This is how much I love this place. I was on this banh mi kick and tried it at several other places around town but there is no beating the best. There is usually a line and a line for a good reason. If you look on my door knob or car you will find my collection of banh mi rubber bands. Its like, damn do I have no dignity? No, no dignity or self control when it comes to a good banh mi.
They recently just started taking credit cards, charging tax and have new registers. I think they were probably audited and consequently also never seem to have cha lua readily. I think there is a connection. I went one morning around 9am in the hopes of getting some for a salad i was making but some jerk skipped the line, went behind the counter and grabbed the last 5.
The #1 combo and #3 grilled pork are their most popular. The grilled pork, I swear is cooked to order (or maybe microwaved), it never fails to come out warm in a crispy baguette. I opt out of have peppers in mine, but the concoction is stuffed with pickled carrots/daikon, cilantro, french butter, a spritz of soy and pate. The baguette is crispy and not crusty where it cuts the roof of your mouth.
If you like strong sweet coffee, give their cafe sua da a try. It won't disappoint and will perk you right up. Other note worthy items are their assortment of croissants. Almond is my favorite and they tend to sell out early. Light airy snack, get their bread rolls.
Note: it can get busy and take a long time to get your sandwich, I once waited about 25 minutes for my three. In the morning, its faster even with a long line, most people are buying bread and not ordering sandwiches like me at 9AM. Enough judging, its August, I have cut down to one banh mi a week. -

Duc Huong you done did it with banh mis!! I love love love Vietnamese sandwiches and will get one any chance I get. Sad part is...I don't live in Sac and will only be able to dream about their amazing sandwiches.
Most important part of a sandwich is their bread, duh! I hurrrrd that DH has a patent on their bread bc it's so airy, soft, and delicious, but I may be spreading rumors, ha. To be very honest, I have zero complaints because every single bite was full of yummy banh mi flavor. Perfect mixture of butter and pate with slabs of cold cuts.
DH, please open one in San Diego!!! -

One of the best bahn mi spots I can recall. Their selection is limited, but what they offer they seem to do well!
I ordered two sandwiches, dac biet, #1-mix of meats and a #7-Xa Xiu bbq pork. I also ordered a viet ice coffee.
I don't know if it had just been awhile since I had a decent bahn mi, or because my cravings for a bahn mi was through the roof... but when I took my first bite of my sandwich, it was awesome!
Even though I took my sandwiches to go, and drove 30 minute back home, my baguette was still perfectly crunchy on the outside, and pillowy soft on the inside. Love that! The proper bahn mi gets some of the interior bread scooped out so the guts of the sandwich can get packed in nicely. This is how DH does it!
The mixed meat bahn mi was delicious. I pulled out the slices of head cheese which I'm not a fan of and then it was perfect. The bbq pork sandwich was also good with thick cuts of meat. Plus, that secret menu item of Viet coffee I ordered hit the spot too! Perfect pairing with bahn mi.
Although a little out of the way for me, I'll go out of the way for DH bahn mi. 5 stars!
